Privacy Policy

Fermi Daily ("the Service," "we," "us") is a single-purpose daily puzzle game. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it. The short version: no account is required to play, your game data stays in your own browser, and any optional sign-in is handled by our authentication provider.

Who is responsible

Fermi Daily is an independent project run by its creator, who is the controller of the limited personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, email bridle_07limps@icloud.com.

What we don't collect by default

You can play Fermi Daily without creating an account or providing any personal information. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any other personal identifier to use the basic game. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, we do not sell personal information, we do not do behavioural advertising, and we do not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

What data is involved

• Anonymous game data — your streak, past estimates, and any reasoning notes you write, stored in your browser's localStorage on your own device.
• Authentication data — only if you choose to sign in: your email address and authentication identifiers, processed by our authentication provider. Passwords are handled by that provider, not stored directly by Fermi Daily.
• Technical request logs — standard information such as IP address, browser/device information, timestamps, and request data, processed automatically by our hosting infrastructure for security, performance, reliability, and abuse prevention.
• Error diagnostics — if a page fails, the app may report the error message, technical stack trace, and the path of the page you were on to the hosting platform's error monitoring. It does not send your reasoning notes or your estimates.

Cookies and local storage

Anonymous gameplay uses your browser's localStorage to remember your game state; it is not a tracking cookie and is not shared with anyone. If you choose to sign in, the authentication provider uses strictly necessary storage or session mechanisms to keep you signed in. The Service does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies, which is why you don't see a cookie banner here.

What's stored locally

Your streak, past estimates, and any reasoning notes are stored in your browser and are not uploaded to our database as part of normal anonymous gameplay — game progress does not sync to an account. Clearing your browser's site data, or using a different browser or device, will reset it, and we cannot recover it for you because we do not keep a copy.

Optional account sign-in

Creating an account is optional and not required to play; it exists so an AI assistant can connect to your daily problems. If you sign up or sign in, a user record is created with our authentication provider so we can keep you signed in. You can ask us to access or delete that account information at any time using the contact email above.

Purposes and lawful bases (EEA/UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we rely on the following, to the extent applicable:

• Performance of a contract — providing sign-in and the account features you asked for.
• Legitimate interests — operating, securing, and keeping the site reliable, including hosting logs and error diagnostics.

We do not rely on consent, because we do not run analytics, advertising, or other non-essential tracking.

How long data is kept

Local game data stays in your browser until you or your browser clears it. Account and authentication data is kept while your account exists and for as long as our authentication provider needs it to operate the service. Technical request logs and error diagnostics are retained according to our hosting provider's own retention practices; we do not set separate retention periods for them.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to host and operate the Service. These currently include:

• Lovable — hosting infrastructure, deployment, and error monitoring. Their privacy policy sets out what they log and for how long.
• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure. If you sign in, Supabase processes your authentication information.
• Google — only if you choose Google sign-in, which uses Google's OAuth service to authenticate you. Fonts are served from this site, so no request is made to Google simply by visiting.

We do not share your data with anyone else beyond what is necessary to operate these services.

International processing

These providers may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where that happens, the transfer safeguards in the relevant provider's own terms and privacy documentation apply.

Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and portability, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection or supervisory authority. Some places, such as California, also give residents the right to know what's collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of sale — we apply the same standard to every visitor: Fermi Daily does not sell personal information to anyone.

In practice: local game data can be removed at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, and we hold no separate copy of it. For anything tied to an optional account, email us and we will action or forward your request as appropriate.

Analytics

Fermi Daily does not currently use any analytics or tracking service. If that changes, this section will be updated to name the provider and describe what it collects before it's turned on — not after.

Children's privacy

Fermi Daily is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Optional account sign-in is not intended for children under 13. Because no account is required to play, children can use the Service without providing personal information. If you believe we may have inadvertently received personal information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can address it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
